I have memories of my families homes in the 70’s and 80’s where my mother had wallpapered most of everything with various flowery swirling designs of all shapes and sizes, by the time I left home, went to university, graduated and entered the real world, there was it seemed little to no chance that I would ever find myself in love with wallpaper of any kind ever again. And then as I travelled the world, and delved further into interiors and designs, I came to see that not all wallpaper was evil, maybe it was just, well, how profusely and in what context it was used that made me so… well, sick to my stomach. Not my mother’s fault, rather I am going to say the design aesthetic of the time. Now I have what I think is a healthy obsession with Wallpaper, searching to find that which will not make me sick and what I might even consider putting in my own home. Here’s to a little healthy exploring to come.
