Want a little bit of tinsel town history in your backyard, or actually own the backyard? Lucille Ball’s first Los Angeles home has hit the market. As befitting the first home of any actor or actress it’s not a whole heck of a lot to write home about, a very cozy home of just under 1,900 square feet, two bedroom and two bath with a little bit of craftsman style. The house was originally built in 1919 and while clearly having been renovated over the years is still charming and fun. The home has less to do with anything that is actually historic so to speak other than really making for good conversation, “So this used to be Lucille Ball’s house” might not be quite a fancy as pulling some other celebrity movie star out of your hat, but for those who want and appreciate some of the older Hollywood glamour, we wouldn’t blame them for liking the pedigree. We found this by way of Country Living, which did a much more detailed write up than we did here.
The address is 1344 N Ogden Drive Spaulding Square neighborhood in West Hollywood, thus the somewhat high asking price of $1.7 million.
