Take a look at the photo above. Think that’s somewhere in the Loire Valley wine country? Think again. It’s actually in the way North West Corner of Connecticut, just a hop skip and a jump from the Massachusetts border. Yep. The General greater Litchfield County and Dutchess County is a pretty swanky place with some crazy cool old homes. This one isn’t quite so old dating back to only 1939, although much of the décor is very, very French in style. Honestly it’s almost too beautiful to put in to words. So we’ll let a couple of photos speak for it.
The house is currently for sale by Elise Harney, whose main office is out of Salisbury Ct. The nearly 6,000 square foot home has 7 bedrooms and 6 and half baths. It has a guest wing, a pool with separate pool house, tennis a small pond and sits on just about 25 acres.
The home has been repeatedly resorted over the years, but nonetheless has managed to really keep to its roots and is almost all completely original (as far as we know).
While maybe not a fancy as the Hamptons, Litchfield County is no slouch in the pricey property department, the home is asking just shy of $3 million.
