Besides the fact that Virginia and the areas around, but outside of Washington DC are just falling all over themselves with history and charm, and while we’ve as of late been more writing and showcasing modern architecture as opposed to more traditional styles, we’ve found ourselves happily skipping through images of colonial homes in Virginia, maybe it’s the whole spring is coming and expectations of cherry blossoms. In particular we loved this house with its mishmash of a façade. You can sort of clearly tell where and how its been added on to over the year, centuries probably. The original house was almost certainly the brick structure way in the back middle ground and then the subsequent add on’s over time. Our guest is, the final addition with the large arched window was probably sometime in the early 80’s, that was kind of a thing back then.
