We are certainly prone to more traditional interiors here, as evidenced by our fascination with wallpaper and prewar architecture and design, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t love modern design. We just happen to believe that most modern design fails, its not an easy look to pull off. Case in point, this Spartan seeming bathroom in a New York City loft is a perfect example of modern done right. The apartment itself is a white box loft in lower Manhattan, with an exposed ceiling, exposed ducts and sprinklers, very cool, very NYC. The modern bathroom here, simple, white walls, oversized grey tiles, the brick wall provides texture. Personally we dislike these organic bubble type tubs, but for those who do like them, it sites well in the corner and has the mandatory wood stool for a glass of wine or a book. If you’re in the tub or using the john odds are you’re going to have a book, newspaper, cell phone or wine. The sink is simple but elegant. The marble top go high, when much the rest of the décor suggests low.
